The RADM James G. Prout III Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the children or spouses of current and past U.S. Navy sailors from the San Diego region of California. Students who have participated in extracurricular activities and demonstrate financial need are welcome to apply.

  • Child or spouse of a U.S. Navy Surface Warfare qualified sailor who is on active duty, retired, or honorably discharged
  • Resident of the San Diego region in California
  • High school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree (child/spouse), graduate degree (spouse)
  • Fulltime student (child) or full or part-time student (spouse)
  • Participation in extracurricular activities
