The Ralph H. and Ruth Frank Gross Memorial Scholarship is offered to current, former, or retired employees of a governmental entity in Broward County ,Florida; children and spouses of a current employee; or children and spouses of an employee killed in the line of duty after serving for at least five years. High school seniors and undergraduate students who are willing to refrain from abusing controlled substances, alcohol, and tobacco products are encouraged to apply. Two application cycles are available annually.

Requirements
  • Current, former, or retired employee of a governmental entity in Broward County, Florida; OR child or spouse of a current employee; OR child or spouse of an employee killed in the line of duty after serving for at least five years
  • Resident of Florida
  • Undergraduate or high school students (minimum SAT composite score of 1100)
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Full or parttime student
  • Planning to attend school in Florida
  • Refrain from joining a sorority or fraternity, consuming tobacco products and illegal drugs, and from abusing alcohol
  • Demonstrate financial need
