About the Scholarship

The REM (Rabe-Ebers-Mallette) Scholarship is an opportunity for students planning to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Graduates from an approved list of high schools in Illinois are eligible to apply. Special consideration is given to incoming undergraduate students from Steeleville, Sparta, Chester, Carmi, or Trico, Illinois; students from Randolph County or White County; incoming transfer students with junior or senior status; and applicants demonstrating community involvement or significant contemporaneous employment. If no qualifying transfer students are available, then applicants with above state-average ACT or SAT scores will be considered.
