About the Scholarship

The Robert J. Helmer Award for Excellence in Journalism and Media Communications offers merit-based scholarships to students enrolled at Johnson County Community College. Students who are pursuing journalism and media communication and have completed or enrolled in at least two Journalism classes are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to students who have completed more Journalism courses or have worked in the Johnson County Community College student news center.
