The Ronald Glenn Thurman, Ph.D. The Memorial Scholarship is an opportunity for undergraduates with at least sophomore standing who attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Those studying biological sciences, chemistry and biochemistry, geology, microbiology, physics, physiology, plant biology, and zoology who can demonstrate financial need are welcome to apply. Special consideration is given to students who demonstrate an interest in research or teaching in a scientific field, as well as to previous recipients of the award.
