Requirements
  • This program is open to students who are of south Asian descent (including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) or demonstrate a keen interest in covering south Asia or the diaspora.
  • Applicants must be serious about preparing for a journalism career and must provide evidence they plan to do so through courses, internships, or freelancing.
  • They must be entering or enrolled at a college or university in North America as undergraduate or graduate students.
  • Recipients are expected to give back to the South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) by volunteering at the annual convention or at other events during the year.
