The Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans support the educational goals of Florida residents. Dependent children or spouses of Florida veterans who are deceased of a service-connected disability sustained while on active duty, disabled with service-connected 100% total and permanent disabilities, or classified as a prisoner of war (POW) or missing in action (MIA) are eligible to apply.

Requirements
  • Child (age 16-22) or spouse of a veteran who had Florida listed as home of record when entered service and is either deceased of a service-connected disability sustained while on active duty, disabled with service-connected 100% total and permanent disabilities, or classified as a prisoner of war (POW) or missing in action (MIA)
  • Resident of Florida
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for a degree program or 180 clock hours for a certificate program
  • Planning to attend school in Florida
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Spouse of a qualified veteran whose residence is listed as Florida, or the spouse of a deceased veteran who is unmarried and who applies within 5 years after the veteran's death
