Requirements
  • This program is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students working on a degree relating to the protection and enhancement of our natural resources and environment, the solid waste industry, and similar fields.
  • Preference is given to residents of South Dakota enrolled or planning to enroll at a college, university, vocational training, or apprenticeship in that state.
  • Fields of study include those relating to and supporting the proper disposal, reuse, hauling, or recycling of solid waste.
  • Related fields include, but are not limited to, accounting, agribusiness, automobile mechanics, biohazard, biology, business administration, chemistry, computer science, education, energy technology, engineering technology, engineering, environmental sciences, geology, government administration, heating/ventilation/refrigeration, hydrology, and trucking.
  • Applicants must submit transcripts, information on work history and/or extracurricular activities, a statement of career and future goals, and documentation of financial need.
