Requirements
  • This program is open to women who are currently enrolled full or part-time or accepted for enrollment in a program of mortuary science accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.
  • Applicants must submit 1) an essay of 750 to 1,000 words on their choice of 4 topics that involve their reasons for entering the funeral service profession; 2) a 5minute video on the skills they possess that will help them in their career in funeral service; 3) another 5-minute video on the biggest challenge (or anticipated biggest challenge) that they face when communicating with families during the arrangement conference, and 4) a third 5-minute video on either the greatest challenge as they enter their career in funeral service or their community involvement and the role it plays in funeral service.
  • Selection is based primarily on the essay, the 3 videos, and academic achievement; financial need is not considered.
