The Skip Thavenet Scholarship supports residents of the 42-town service area in Connecticut, as well as those in Charlestown, Hopkinton, Richmond, and Westerly, Rhode Island. Students pursuing a certification or an associate degree in a technical trade are welcome to apply. Those studying for a degree in the industrial arts (welding, manufacturing, construction management, and industrial engineering), as well as pursuing a career as a professional hairdresser, receive special consideration. Additional consideration is given to students from Stonington and North Stonington, Connecticut, and the Rhode Island towns of Westerly, Charlestown, Richmond, and Hopkinton.
