Requirements
  • This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools or home schools in Alabama and planning to enroll at a college, university, community college, or technical school in the state.
  • Students registered as DACA are eligible.
  • Applicants must have a grade average of at least "C+" and ACT/SAT scores that depend on the college to be attended.
  • They may also attach a personal statement essay that they have written as part of their college application.
  • If they did not have a personal statement essay, they must write such a statement now on their background, identity, family life, or special interest, and how their past has impacted who they are today.
  • Selection is based on academic merit, commitment to volunteer and community service, assistance to family members, and financial need.
