Society of Mayflower Descendants of South Carolina Middle/High School Division Scholarship recognizes and rewards middle and high school students in South Carolina who submit outstanding essays on the Mayflower experience.

Requirements
  • This program is open to students in grades 6-12 at schools in South Carolina.
  • Applicants must either 1) be sponsored by a teacher or guidance counselor at the school they attend; or 2) be the relative of a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants of South Carolina.
  • Students in the first category must submit a 300 to 500word summary of the National History Day project, including access to any multi-media aspects of their project.
  • Students in the second category must submit an essay of 500700 words on their Mayflower ancestors that explains how they broke barriers in history.
