The Student Academic Research Review (STARR) Community College Program provides financial assistance for study in space-related STEM fields to undergraduate students at community colleges that are members of the Oregon NASA Space Grant Consortium (OSGC). Applications are especially encouraged from members of underrepresented groups (women, Native Americans, African Americans, Latinos, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, and people with disabilities).

Requirements
  • Enrolled at least half time at Lane Community College, Linn-Benton Community College, Oregon Coast Community College, Portland Community College (all campuses), or Southwestern Oregon Community College.
  • Seeking an associate degree in a field of STEM related to the mission of the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), including aerospacerelated engineering and mathematics, earth sciences, chemistry, biology, food science, and computer science.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Able to review a spacerelated research project being conducted by a faculty member. Preference is given to members of underrepresented groups (women, Native Americans, African Americans, Latinos, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, and people with disabilities).
