The Suncoast Nursing Action Coalition Doctorate in Nursing Scholarship program seeks faculty members teaching nursing at the State College of Florida, Keiser (Sarasota), Florida SouthWestern State College (Charlotte), Galen College of Nursing (Sarasota), or University of South Florida (Sarasota-Manatee). Students seeking a Ph.D. or DNP in nursing will be considered. This is a nomination-only scholarship through the dean or director of the program at which the student currently teaches.

Requirements

Faculty member teaching nursing at the State College of Florida, Keiser (Sarasota), Florida SouthWestern State College (Charlotte), Galen College of Nursing (Sarasota), or University of South Florida (Sarasota-Manatee)

Resident of Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, or Sarasota counties, Florida

Doctoral student

Seeking a medical degree or Ph.D full or parttime

Studying nursing

Current teacher and intend to work in a nursing program within the SNAC region for at least 2 years after completion of the doctoral degree

Nominated by the dean or director of the program

Demonstrate financial need
