The Colonel William G. Brey Scholarship Award provides financial assistance to descendants of members of the Redwood Empire Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) in California who plan to attend college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to children, grandchildren, lineal descendants, and wards of regular and auxiliary members of the MOAA Redwood Empire Chapter.
  • Applicants must have graduated (or be about to graduate) from high school and be planning to enroll fulltime at an accredited collegiate, vocational, technical, business, or professional school in any state.
  • Selection is based on that essay (10 points), GPA (12 points), SAT and/or ACT scores (12 points), variety and challenge level of course work (6 points), competitive honors (5 points), school extracurricular activities (10 points), community service abilities (10 points), demonstrated leadership ability (5 points), letters of recommendation (10 points), promise and potential (10 points), and military service (5 points for service on active or reserve component duty and 5 points for service in a combat theater).
