The Floro and McCarthy Family "Big Blue and White K" Scholarship is awarded to those interested in serving in the military or in pursuing certification or a degree in the field of medicine and healthcare. Half-time and full-time students are encouraged to apply. Veterans and family members of the military receive special consideration. It is also the policy of the Foundation to give preference to students of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2.50 GPA
  • Resident of the U.S.
  • Undergraduate or graduate student
  • Interested in serving in the military, OR
  • Seeking a bachelor's or graduate degree in nursing, dental health, healthcare administration, or other field of medicine; OR
  • Seeking professional certification or an associate degree in pharmacy, emergency medical, radiology, or other health science program
  • Full or parttime student
  • Participation in community service or extracurricular activities Preference is given to students of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law, veterans, and family members of the military.
