Betty B. Louie established and funded The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation in December 2005 because of her desire to honor the memory of her parents. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding personal achievements, academic merit, leadership qualities and/or community service. Those whose parents are U.S. veterans or who are currently in the U.S. military, those with demonstrated financial need, and those who are first-generation college students receive special consideration.

  • Resident of the U.S.
  • Have taken a gap year after high school graduation, Freshman in the upcoming academic year
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree fulltime
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to those whose parents are U.S. veterans or who are currently in the U.S. military, those with demonstrated financial need, and those who are firstgeneration college students.
