The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Undergraduate Scholarship is available to students enrolled in Washington, DC area institutions. Students who demonstrate leadership, financial need, and pride in their culture or heritage are welcome to apply. Special consideration is given to students with low to moderate incomes, single parents returning to school to improve their family's lives, and students who are trying to recover from a past criminal record. There are additional requirements for Vietnamese students from Vietnam.

Requirements

Minimum 3.00 GPA

Resident of the U.S.

High school senior or undergraduate student

Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree

Attending or planning to attend the University of Maryland, George Mason University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, the University of Virginia, Northern Virginia Community College, Montgomery College, Virginia Commonwealth University, or the University of the Disctrict of Columbia

U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Show leadership and passion for human rights and democracy

Aged 17 to 30

Exhibit active service to the Vietnamese, and/or American communities

Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to students with low to moderate incomes, single parents returning to school to improve their families lives, and students who are trying to recover from a past criminal record.
