The McConnell Foundation Scholars Program awards students who are committed to bringing about positive change in their communities. Eligible students include those who reside in or attend a high school or community college in Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, or Trinity counties in California; attend Big Valley High School in Lassen County; attend Hoopa Valley High School in Humboldt County; or are transferring from Shasta College or the College of the Siskiyous. Undocumented students are encouraged to apply.

Requirements
  • Reside or attend high school or community college in Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, or Trinity counties in California, **or**
  • Attend Big Valley High School in Lassen County or Hoopa Valley High School in Humboldt County in California, **or**
  • Live or attend school in the counties above and plan to transfer from Shasta College or College of the Siskiyous
  • Graduating high school senior, firsttime college freshman, or junior transfer student
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree fulltime
  • Maximum Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of less than $6,655
  • Demonstrate financial need Students related to any McConnell Foundation Board member, Program Services staff member, exempt employee, or current McConnell scholarship selection committee member are not eligible to apply.
