The Michael Bates Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of any state enrolled at colleges and universities in Kansas who have been involved in media-related activities and are interested in a career in journalism.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of any state enrolled at least half-time and entering their junior or senior year at colleges and universities in Kansas.
  • Applicants must be seriously considering a career in journalism.
  • They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a record of involvement in student and/or professional news media.
