The Talegaonkar Medical Scholarship recognizes residents of designated communities in Virginia. Students who participate in extracurricular activities and are studying for a degree in science (e.g., chemistry, biology, physics, biochemical engineering), nursing, or the medical field are welcome to apply. Students planning to attend Virginia Commonwealth University receive special consideration.

  • Minimum 3.50 GPA
  • Resident of the City of Hopewell, Prince George County, or the Enon District of Chesterfield County, Virginia
  • Undergraduate or graduate student
  • Seeking an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree in science (chemistry, biology, physics, biochemical engineering), nursing, or medicine full or parttime
  • Attending school in Virginia
  • Participation in extracurricular activities
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to students planning to attend Virginia Commonwealth University.
