The Walter J. Travis Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students who are either amateur golfers or preparing for a career related to that sport.

Requirements
  • This program is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled or entering a 2- or 4-year college or university.
  • Applicants must be either 1) amateur golfers, majoring in any field; or 2) preparing for a career in landscape design/golf course architecture, golf course turfgrass management/golf course superintendent, professional golf management, club professional, or sports journalism with a special interest in golf.
  • Selection is based on academic record, involvement in golfrelated interests and activities, extracurricular activities, and career goals (only for students preparing for a golf-related career).
  • For amateur golfers, a record in the competition is a major consideration.
