The Tuition and Fee Exemption - Indiana Purple Heart Recipient program is available to Indiana residents who received a purple heart for their service in the armed forces. Veterans who are planning to pursue a professional certificate, associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree at a public institution in Indiana are welcome to apply.

  • Member of the Armed Services
  • Resident of Indiana
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree
  • Planning to attend an eligible college or university in Indiana
  • U.S. citizen, asylumseeker or asylee, conditional permanent resident, Cuban or Haitian entrant, FAFSA-eligible non-citizen, humanitarian parolee, permanent resident, refugee, or U.S. national
  • Male
  • Recipient of the Purple Heart, or was wounded as a result of enemy action and honorably discharged
  • Is not in default on any federal student loans or owe a repayment of federal student aid
  • Not be incarcerated in any federal or Indiana correctional facilities
