Requirements
  • This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in Hawaii and planning to enroll at an accredited college or university in any state.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for the ukulele as an instrument of virtuoso quality.
  • Selection is based on a personal essay describing their educational plans, career goals, and college financial need (20%); a personal essay describing their love for the ukulele and what it means to them (40%); a list of their volunteer and community service activities (20%); 2 letters of recommendation (10%); and financial need (10%).
