United Methodist General Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students who are members of United Methodist Church congregations.

Requirements

This program includes a number of individual scholarships that were established by private donors through wills and annuities.

The basic criteria for eligibility include 1) U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status; 2) active, full membership in a United Methodist Church for at least 1 year prior to applying; 3) GPA of 2.5 or higher; 4) demonstrated financial need, and 5) fulltime enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited educational institution in the United States.

Students from the Central Conferences must be enrolled at a United Methodistrelated institution.

Most graduate scholarships are designated for persons working on a degree in theological studies (M.Div., D.Min., Ph.D.) or higher education administration.
