Utah Pork Producers Association Youth Pork Ambassador Scholarship recognizes and rewards, with college scholarships, residents of Utah who are selected as a youth spokesperson for the pork industry.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Utah who are enrolled as a junior in high school through a junior in college.
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and should have experience in the pork industry.
  • They first submit an application in which they describe their involvement in the pork industry, their parent's involvement in the pork industry, any FFA or 4H swine projects, academic honors, extracurricular activities, agricultural course work, employment experience, career plans, and the goals they hope to gain from serving as the Youth Pork Ambassador.
  • Finalists are then invited to interviews at which they discuss and demonstrate their knowledge of the pork industry and organizational issues.
  • The winners are selected on the basis of the interview.
  • The winners must attend 5 public events during the year of the award before scholarship funds are released.
