The Vermont John H. Chafee Education and Training Scholarship is available to residents of Vermont who are or have been under the custody of the Department for Children and Families (DCF). Students who demonstrate financial need are eligible to apply.

Requirements
  • Resident of Vermont
  • High school senior, undergraduate student, on academic break, or not currently enrolled
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Attending or planning to attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding in the U.S. or Canada
  • U.S. citizen or FAFSAeligible non-citizen
  • Aged 26 or younger
  • Custody experience under the Department for Children and Families (DCF) after the age of 14 (after age 16 if exited to adoption or legal guardianship)
