The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 637, Bobbiejo Lazo Scholarship is open to residents of designated communities in Virginia who are attending or planning to attend college. Students pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree are encouraged to apply. Children or grandchildren of members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 637, or the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 637 Auxiliary receive special consideration.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA for undergraduates, minimum 3.0 GPA for high school seniors, minimum 1000 composite SAT for home school students
  • Resident of Prince George County, Colonial Heights, Fort Lee, Hopewell, or Petersburg, Virginia
  • High school senior or undergraduate student
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree full or parttime
  • Participation in community service or extracurricular activities
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to children or grandchildren of members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 637 or the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 637 Auxiliary.
