The VFW Post 8191 Scholarship is available to active duty or honorably discharged veterans or their dependents at Eastern Florida State College. Residents of South Brevard County in Florida who are studying public safety, nursing or seeking an associate degree to become a teacher are encouraged to apply. Recipients are chosen for their demonstration of financial need. Special consideration is given to students who have participated in junior ROTC in high school.

  • U.S. Armed Service active duty or honorably discharged veteran or their dependent (spouse, child, or grandchild)
  • Minimum 2.50 GPA
  • Resident of South Brevard County, Florida (south of SR 520)
  • Attend Eastern Florida State College
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree full or parttime
  • Studying public safety, nursing, or plan to become a teacher
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to students who have participated in junior ROTC in high school.
