The Virginia Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife Scholarship is available to nursing students in Virginia who wish to work as nurse practitioners or midwives after graduation. Special consideration is given to students who are residents of Virginia, minority students, and those enrolled in family practice, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, adult health, and geriatric nurse practitioner programs, as well as residents of designated medically underserved areas of Virginia.

Requirements

Minimum 2.50 GPA

Participation in community service or extracurricular activities

U.S. citizen, national, immigrant, and political refugee

Undergraduate or graduate student

Preference is given to students who are residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia, who are minority students, students enrolled in Family Practice, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Adult Health, and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Programs, and residents of designated medically underserved areas of Virginia
