Requirements
  • This program is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, immigrants, and political refugees who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment full or part-time at a nurse practitioner program or a nurse-midwifery program in Virginia.
  • Applicants must have been residents of Virginia for at least 1 year.
  • They must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
  • Preference is given to 1) residents of designated medically underserved areas of Virginia; 2) students enrolled in family practice, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric, adult health, and geriatric nurse practitioner programs; and 3) minority students, defined to include African Americans/Blacks, Hispanics/Latinos, Asians, Native Hawaiians or other Pacific Islanders, American Indians, or Alaska Natives.
