From the Institution
Cameron University provides access to a quality education through a student-centered academic environment that combines innovative classroom teaching with experiential learning. Cameron understands the importance of adapting to fit the needs of its students and their communities. Originally an agricultural high school, CU grew into a community college, then a four-year degree-granting institution with a graduate program and a branch campus in nearby Duncan, Oklahoma. For students who want the full college experience without the worries of larger, more crowded campuses, Cameron offers small classes with face-to-face interaction with professors. But CU also understands that many students prefer the convenience of digital learning through online classes. The university works to provide world-class facilities that promote the student experience, such as access to a gross anatomy lab for those planning on careers in medicine, an indoor golf training center for athletes, and an eSports arena for competitive gamers, including those interesting in communication opportunities in that field. Cameron is the perfect destination for students, whether they come from the U.S. or abroad, and is above the national average in ethnic and geographic diversity. This diversity provides all students a unique opportunity to meet and learn from a variety of cultures. Located in Lawton, Oklahoma, CU serves a military base, which provides a richly diverse culture and friendly population that contributes to the "welcome" feeling that students experience. CU offers nearly 50 different degrees at the associate, bachelor's and master's degree levels, as well as four undergraduate certificates, a graduate certificate in alcohol and drug counseling, and micro-credentials in a number of fields. With affordable tuition and a close to 100% acceptance rate, any student can take advantage of its valuable educational opportunities. On-campus living arrangements are also available. Cameron faculty and staff prepare students for professional success, responsible citizenship, lifelong learning and meaningful contributions in a rapidly changing world. But the university's primary mission is to provide students a valuable - and affordable - degree. CU welcomes transfers from other colleges and universities and offers concurrent enrollment opportunities for high school students. Scholarships are available.
