The leasing and selling of land to home buyers and business owners has roots that date back to the 1700s. For instance, in 1794, the City Hotel was developed in New York City and was the first hotel built in the United States. Real estate is about land and how that land is used. Plenty goes into planning and developing a built environment, whether it’s used for housing, farming, offices, or entertainment.

Majoring in real estate will sharpen your analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Real estate is intricately tied to the economy and can be significantly impacted positively and negatively depending on fiscal cycles and fluctuations. As a Real Estate major, you’ll also learn about business concepts and best practices in the industry.
