Two Tools, One Goal: Helping Students Own Their Future
BigFuture offers two free tools for students. BigFuture School helps eligible AP students and in-school SAT Suite test takers see how their skills, interests, and aspirations can lead to postsecondary pathways. BigFuture.org provides every student with resources to plan for what’s next.
BigFuture School Mobile App
This free mobile app is available to students who are 13 and older and in participating U.S. schools, if they take an in-school SAT or PSAT assessment and/or are enrolled in eligible AP courses*. Students can explore colleges and careers and get personalized guidance – all in one place.
*BigFuture School is not offered to students as part of their AP course participation in New York. There may be other exclusions.
BigFuture.org
Available to all students, 13 and older, to help plan for their future. With supportive resources, students can explore careers, plan for college, and pay for college. Starting in 10th grade, students can qualify for monthly $500 and $40,000 scholarships by completing steps on their dashboard.
✦ NEW! BigFuture School is now available to students enrolled in eligible AP courses ✦
BigFuture School and Connections Help Students See How Their Skills Can Lead to Future Opportunities
AP students can explore how the skills they may be developing in AP courses connect to postsecondary pathways. In-school SAT and PSAT test takers can use their score report as a starting point for self-discovery. No matter how students come to the app, BigFuture School and Connections empower them to discover college and career opportunities and navigate their next steps with confidence.
Check SAT School Day and PSAT Scores in the App
Students who provide a mobile number during Bluebook exam setup or use their test registration number can view their in-school SAT/PSAT score report to dig into the types of skills they may be developing and how those can lead to different possible future pathways.
Explore Colleges and Careers
Students can use tools like Skill Search, Career Quiz, Career Search, College Search, College Quiz, and more to find their fit and connect their learning to opportunities.
Opt in to Connections (where available)
Students can also opt in to Connections™, a free, optional program (if offered at your school), where they can discover nonprofit colleges, scholarship providers, and programs that may be a good fit and have indicated an interest in students like them.
For PSAT and SAT School Day Test Takers, the Score is Just the Beginning
Students can choose to use the BigFuture School mobile app for a personalized college and career search experience. After taking the PSAT™ 8/9, PSAT™ 10, PSAT/NMSQT®, or SAT® in school, they can access scores and career insights as well as discover colleges and careers that fit their interests. The app allows them to update preferences and receive customized future planning guidance.
Connections Puts Students’ Privacy First
With Connections, no personal information is shared with institutions. A student chooses to connect and share information with institutions. This gives students and their families more control over when, or whether, they raise their hands to be seen.
Connections content is shared from organizations that are interested in students based on information students, schools, districts, or states provide as part of the eligible school assessment. Connections content may also be based on any information students share in BigFuture School, their educational and career interests and preferences share in BigFuture School, and score ranges on any of their past and future SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, PSAT 8/9, and any AP Exams to make connections that are relevant to students.
*Connections not available to 8th grade PSAT 8/9 test takers; not available in New York. A school, district, or state may choose to not provide access to Connections.
How Students Gain Access to BigFuture School
To take advantage of all that BigFuture School and Connections have to offer, students can gain access one of the following ways:
For In-School SAT or PSAT Test Takers
When students take an SAT® School Day, PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, or PSAT™ 8/9, they'll have the option to share their mobile number during exam setup in Bluebook™.
If they don’t provide a phone number on test day, they can sign in using their registration number and then add a mobile number for future access.
*A school, district, or state may choose to not provide access to Connections for in-school SAT Suite test takers; not available in New York.
For AP Students
If they are enrolled in an eligible AP course and their school has provided access to BigFuture School, they’ll have the option to share their mobile number when they first register to join an AP class section in My AP.
If they want access at a later date, students can choose to do so in My AP any time during the school year.
*BigFuture School and Connections are not offered to students as part of their AP course participation in New York or outside of the United States at this time. There may be other exclusions.
