Why can't a student nominate themselves for the School Recognition Award?

The School Recognition Award recognizes students who scored in the top 10% of their school for qualifying PSAT administrations or met the eligibility criteria for AP exams. We pool the scores for all eligible students in each high school in the class of 2026 and 2027 who took the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 by the fall 2024 and/or met the score requirements for AP Exams taken in the 8th, 9th or 10th grade by the fall 2024. Given that, College Board has the necessary information to invite any eligible students for the award designation.
