How do I know if I won a scholarship?
Scholarship recipients will receive an email from College Board with notification of their award. If you’ve earned an Opportunity Scholarship, you’ll also receive another email with instructions from IDOC ([email protected]), which is College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service. Additionally, you can review your My Achievements page to see if you were selected as a winner. (In the “Results” column, it will read “Congrats! You’ve been selected.”)
What if I earned a scholarship but have not received an email with next steps?
Verify your email address in the account settings of your College Board account. It is possible that the email address on file is one that you no longer use. You can call our customer service team at 1-844-298-3554 for assistance with changing your email address or completing the process to accept a scholarship.
What do I need to do to officially accept my award?
You, along with your parent/guardian, need to review and electronically sign the official winner verification form to accept your award. You’ll receive an email from IDOC with instructions to submit the required paperwork. Parents/guardians will receive an email from DocuSign with a link to paperwork they should sign. Once both you and your parent/guardian complete the winner verification form, no additional action will be required.
You need to share the CBFinAid ID with your parent/guardian from the email instructions you receive. Your parent/guardian will not be able to access the paperwork without it.
How do I know if I completed all required steps to accept my scholarship?
How and when will I receive my award?
During the spring of senior year, scholarship winners will receive an email with instructions to indicate the name of the college or university where they plan to enroll. Prior to the first semester of college, we will disburse the money directly to the institution that the student indicates. If a student defers enrollment or chooses to take a gap year, the scholarship award will remain available for up to one year.
What can the scholarship be used for?
We want these scholarships to help students meet expenses associated with attending college, so we will instruct institutions that the scholarships should be applied to tuition, fees, books, and other relevant educational expenses.
