What's the BigFuture School App?

BigFuture School is a free mobile app that gives you control over college and career planning. You’ll get easy access to your test scores and customized guidance about college and career planning. 

In this article, we’ll share how you can access the app and what you can (and can’t) use it for.

How You Can Use the BigFuture School Mobile App 

Provide Your Mobile Number for Secure Access 

Because you completed the SAT® School Day, PSAT/NMSQT®,  PSAT™ 10, or PSAT™ 8/9, you can download BigFuture School. You'll sign in using the same phone number you provided when you took the test, and we'll send you a code. 

Your account for the app is separate from your College Board account, so you won’t use the same login details or be able to see the same information as you do for that account, including AP or weekend SAT information.

Get Your Scores Easily

If you provide your mobile number each time you take a test, you’ll get a text message when your scores are available. Only your scores from the SAT® School Day, PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, or PSAT™ 8/9, that you took during school are available in the BigFuture School mobile app. 

You can also explore career interests with customized suggestions and guidance according to where you’re located and your test performance to help you figure out the best path for success.

Connect with Colleges, Scholarships, and More

If you took a PSAT-related assessment or SAT during the school day, Connections™ (where available) is the primary way to discover nonprofit colleges, scholarship providers, and government agencies offering education programs that match your goals and interests and are actively looking for students like you. You can do so by reviewing messages shared from them or using the Matches feature. 

Matches is only available to eligible Connections users. When you opt in, you may receive messages from College Board on behalf of institutions through the BigFuture School mobile app, email, and/or mail. 

What are the college preferences? Do I have to add those? 

You can now update preferences to tailor your college searches for a more personalized experience. ​The preferences allow you to see colleges that fit your goals and interests. They include options such as college type, size, location, and degree level, and you can apply as many or as few as you would like. ​

For Connections users, your updated preferences will help generate college matches─schools that match your interests and are actively looking for students like you.​

You’re always in control of what information you share and when. You can update your college preferences anytime, and you can remove your preferences whenever you want. College preferences can be found in your settings. They’re also linked throughout the app.

Get College and Career Planning Advice 

BigFuture School provides you with personalized college and career planning guidance, customized to your current grade level and the time of year. 

You’ll get messages throughout the year with important information such as the key steps to take to plan for college and which resources are available to help you pay for college. 

Have a College Board Account? 

You have the power to plan at your fingertips. BigFuture School personalizes your college and career planning. It’s an integral tool within the SAT Suite of Assessments. However, there are broader College Board features you’ll need to access using your College Board Account. You can: 

• Access your Advanced Placement (AP)® scores .
• Review your Student Score Report for the SAT (if you took it on a weekend).
• Use bigfuture.org for college planning. It offers resources to create a college list, review your College and Career Planning Checklist, and match with scholarships and colleges via Student Search Service™.
