Meet Our Speakers:

Erin Carlson
High School English Teacher, Sandusky Jr./Sr. High School

Erin Carlson is a dedicated educator and proud mother of three, Matt (23), David (17), and Rachel (14). She teaches high school English at Sandusky Jr./Sr. High School, where she inspires students to learn and explore. Outside the classroom, Erin enjoys sharing her passions with the community by teaching teen cooking classes at the local library, volunteering, reading, and baking.

 

 

Brian Carter
Chief of Staff / Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Operations at Khan Academy

Brian Carter is Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Operations for Khan Academy. In this role, Brian supports Khan Academy’s senior leadership team and the organization to set and meet our ambitious goals in service of our mission to provide a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere. Brian also is responsible for managing all aspects of Khan Academy’s Strategic Partners, who are organizations we share a strong alignment with in terms of working to provide free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere. Prior to his time at Khan Academy, Brian spent his career in the classroom, on the Hill, at the U.S. State Department, in consulting, and in philanthropy. Brian earned his PhD in chemistry from Columbia University and has undergraduate degrees in both chemistry and mathematics from the University of Georgia.

Cassy McKee
Program Manager at Schoolhouse.world

Cassy McKee is a Senior Program Manager at Schoolhouse.world, an education nonprofit founded by Sal Khan of Khan Academy. She leads the SAT Bootcamp program, which has supported over 100,000 learners with free peer-to-peer tutoring. Cassy previously served as Executive Director of Reading Partners Seattle and began her career as a special education teacher through Teach for America.

Larry Miller
Director, Product Owner SAT Suite Practice

Larry Miller is the Product Owner for College Board’s SAT Suite Practice ecosystem, which provides free, accessible, and research-backed practice resources for students and educators. Larry leads the ongoing development and expansion of the SAT Suite’s Practice products, which include full-length practice tests and score results, tailored practice, question banks, the Question of the Day application, and direct connections to Khan Academy Official SAT Prep.

With more than 20 years of experience across the assessment and EdTech industries, Larry brings a customer-centered approach to product strategy and development, with a focus on making high-quality practice both effective and easy to use. Larry is passionate about providing effective practice tools to students from all backgrounds and helping families understand how practice can build confidence and reduce stress as students prepare for the SAT.
