From the Institution

LaGrange College has been transforming the lives of students since 1831. Today, LaGrange is a four-year liberal arts and sciences institution offering a range of bachelor's degrees-reaching from biochemistry to business, mathematics to musical theatre-and providing graduate degrees in education and clinical mental health counseling. LaGrange offers the resources and support students need to reach their goals. With a student/professor ratio of 11-to-1 and intentionally small class sizes, students receive the personal attention they need to excel academically, socially, physically and spiritually. At LaGrange, students discover their purpose under the coaching of faculty who feel like family. It isn't just a college; it's a support system. Located one hour southwest of Atlanta, LaGrange College helps students go beyond the walls of the classroom with a Global Engagement emphasis. Each May students are encouraged to explore outside the realm of their majors, and classes have traveled to destinations from the Philippines to the Galápagos Islands. In support, the college offers travelers generous need-based scholarship opportunities. Before graduating, the majority of LaGrange students take part in undergraduate research with a faculty member, courses with a service-learning project, an internship/field experience, a travel course or a culminating senior experience. In fact, over half of graduating seniors participate in at least three of these experiences- "high-impact practices" that research has shown increase student success. Students also find possibilities outside the classroom. Many participate in one of 15 NCAA Division III sports, join an intramural team or engage in one of more than 30 clubs and organizations. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, LaGrange offers students opportunities for spiritual growth and faith relationships. Service is at the core of our mission, and each semester brings campus-wide projects in which to participate. A Servant Scholars program links students with community leaders and mentors so they can study locals needs-and decide how to best meet them. The multitude of paths students find at LaGrange ultimately lead them to their own unique journey ... and help them to find not only a job, but a career. Not only a living, but a calling.
