From the Institution

Founded in 1840 as the first institution in the state, Southwestern University is a private liberal arts school in Georgetown, TX. Students at SU can choose from 37 majors. The university's required First-Year Seminar places an emphasis on interdisciplinary learning as a four-credit course focusing on intellectual themes related to liberal arts courses. Students also have the opportunity to pursue interdisciplinary learning through the school's Paideia program and several insterdisciplinary majors. The university is home to more than 60 student clubs and organizations with various foci from academic interests, to religion, to Greek chapters and sports clubs. Over one fourth of all students participate in Greek life, and around two thirds of all students live on campus.
