Who’s eligible for this awesome contest?

The contest is open to individuals 16 and older who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia and who will be attending college (including community, vocational-technical, and career colleges) for the first time in the fall of 2023. When does the contest open and close?

Declare Your #Collegiance will open May 1, 2023, and will accept submissions until 11:59 p.m. ET on May 31, 2023.

How do you know if you won?

Potential winners (and, if a minor, their parent or legal guardian) will be notified by telephone, mail, and/or email in June 2023.

How many seniors will win?

Grand Prize Video: $10,000 will be awarded to one (1) winner. Runner-Up Video: $5,000 will be awarded to one (1) winner. Finalists: $1,000 will be awarded to each of eight (8) winners. Prizes may be used by winners to pay for tuition, books, or other educational materials.

Who are the judges? What are they looking for?

All eligible Entries will be judged by a panel of professional educators, including film and media professors, based on the following criteria, with each criterion weighted equally: Aesthetic, Creativity, Engagement, Authenticity, Originality, and Wow Factor (collectively, “Judging Criteria”).

What can the award money be used for?

Prizes may be used by winners to pay for tuition, books, or other educational materials. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
