D'Youville is a private university located on the vibrant west side of Buffalo, preparing students for the future. Excelling at helping students reach their career goals, D'Youville instills character to become change agents, doing well for themselves and their communities by giving back and never refusing to serve. Founded in 1908, the Grey Nuns named the college after the Patron Saint Marguerite d'Youville to be a compassionate place of learning for those from underrepresented populations to give them a better life, a tradition that continues today. D'Youville honors its Catholic heritage and the spirit of St. Marguerite d'Youville by providing academic, social, spiritual, and professional development in programs that emphasize leadership and service.
