The University of Minnesota Twin Cities, is a bustling traditional four-year college nestled in between two major cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul. A proud member of the Big Ten Conference, we are proud to offer 8 freshman admitting colleges (featuring 150 majors), five professional schools and global research opportunities starting at the undergrad level. There is no limit to what you can do here. Our location provides easy access to career-advancing opportunities along the way, such as internships, mentors, networking and jobs. The University also offers a wide variety of activities, from Big Ten sports, clubs to more than 900 student organizations. The local community has even more to offer including the arts and theater; hundreds of parks, rivers, lakes and green spaces and a thriving entertainment and food scene. The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is on the traditional homelands of the Dakota people. Minnesota comes from the Dakota name for this region, Mni Sota Makoce - the land with smoky or cloudy water. Stepping into the Twin Cities, you'll be surrounded by a diverse and thriving population of people from around the world. The metro is ranked as a Top 20 LGTBQ friendly area and also houses the largest Somali population and the second largest Hmong population in the United States.
