Paine College is a beautiful 60-acre campus located in the heart of Augusta, Georgia. At Paine College, we are blessed with access to important cultural and economic centers. The campus is located one hour away from Columbia, the capital of South Carolina, and it is an easy two-hour drive from Atlanta, the capital of Georgia. Our Mission Paine College is a private institution steeped in the tenets of Methodism that provides a liberal arts education of the highest quality. The College emphasizes academic excellence, ethical and spiritual values, social responsibility, and personal development to prepare spiritually-centered men and women for positions of leadership and service. Our Vision Over the next five years, Paine College shall build on its achievements and legacy to be regionally recognized as a premier liberal arts institution of higher education. The curriculum of the College is designed to provide opportunities for sound physical, intellectual, moral, social and spiritual growth under Christian influences. It is also designed to meet the needs of the individual student and to assist the student in acquiring scholarly habits of work and study; to cultivate cultural qualities; to develop leadership potential; to serve the community creatively in attitude; and to develop initiative, self-expression, self-confidence, and creative thinking. To achieve these ends, the curriculum is planned to provide a balanced program of offerings in the areas of language, literature, and fine arts; natural sciences and mathematics; social sciences; religion and philosophy.
